Crack your own geode

To open a geode, place it inside an old sock or cloth to contain shards, then tap it gently around the center with a hammer or chisel on a hard surface. For a cleaner break, use a pipe cutter or a tile saw, which creates two even, polished halves to show off the internal crystals.
